The Loft-medlem debuterer som solist

 

En af landets mest eftertrykkelige hitmagere vender tilbage med singlen ”Out of Sight”. Under navnet Weise leger tidligere medlem af The Loft med både livets store spørgsmål og poppens korte svar.

 

Jakob Weise regerede de danske hitlister i slutningen af sidste årti som den ene halvdel af duoen The Loft. Nu har han skiftet ham og vender tilbage helt som sig selv. Som Weise. Første smagsprøve på hans solokarriere er singlen ”Out of Sight”, som udkommer d. 23. januar.

Nummeret viser på bedste facon Weises kompromisløse jagt på den gode melodi og produktion på den ene side og hans længselsfulde væsen på den anden.

- Jeg vil gerne balancere mellem det ultrakommercielle og noget, som sætter tanker i gang. Det trigger mig, når det er soulet, for det er dér, man kan koble melankolien og længslen på, siger Weise.

I de veldoserede elektroniske detaljer og det bredspektrede sing-a-long-omkvæd skinner inspirationen fra navne som The Script og One Republic klart igennem.

”Out of Sight” er skrevet i samarbejde med Marcus Winther-John og Lene Dissing og produceret af Weise selv, mens mixet er forestået af Jacob Hansen, som tidligere har arbejdet med Volbeat og Dúné.

Singlen er forløber for de to EP’er, Weise udgiver i 2012. Datoer og titler på dem vil blive offentliggjort i de kommende måneder.

This song will always be very dear to me.

‘No Ordinary Man’ is dedicated to my father, Ib Weise Hellum, who passed away in December 2001.

It was also the title song of the album ‘No Ordinary Man’ released by The Loft in 2004.

Today, we finished all the scenes with Theo and Camilla for the music video of ‘Out Of Sight’. It was really windy today, and we were all really freezing – hopefully it won’t show too much in the shots.

We made the end sequence where we are all present. Paul and Helene who is directing and filming the video brougth this crane out to the set for that sequence – so the final shot is really looking awesome. Don’t wanna reveal too much, though…

Now we just need to finish all the scenes with me singing the song, hopefully real soon, and then, next step is the editing.

 

I was hanging out with producer and mixer Jacob Hansen yesterday. He has mixed Volbeat, The Storm, Dúne and a lot of other good stuff. And now also my forthcoming single ‘Out Of Sight’.

Today we shot the first scenes with the couple in the video, played by Theo and Camilla. They did really great. Looking forward to shooting some more, hopefully it will be soon.
